I mean, seriously?

Her perfect powdered skin, her undone but done lips, her subtle hazel gaze, or that every time you see her, she seems more beautiful than before. How is that possible?

Oh I know! It's that flawlessly tousled half up do that makes her look like the new girl next door.

Her hair.

Look at it.

LOOK at it again.

How EASY!

I know you all can do this at home!

This is what you need:

Hot roller set OR 1 inch curling iron and small clips

Flexible Hairspray

comb

Mason pearson (or like) soft boar bristle brush

hairbinder

bobby pins

Curl your hair with hot rollers or a curling iron set, spray with hairspray (10inches away), create a part in your hair, back comb (with the tight teeth end of the comb) small sections off your face and at your crown, brush over softly with mason pearson (like) brush, and pull front sections or half of your hair back loosely. Make sure to keep that tousled volume (from curl set and backcombing) for the WHO CARES feel. Spray again,and admire.

You will look just like her.

WE ALL WANT IT.

We may even compare our hair to the person sitting next to us- asking ourselves, "is mine shinier than theirs..?"

Shiny hair is attractive, it is a sign of good health, good hygeine. It appears to be clean and healthy, free of over processed, over styled junk.

I love it.

And. You love it.

Or Pureology's Shine max,I love this in my hair, especially because I don't always like to put product in my hair- I (pat it)apply it to the top of my head(NOT at my scalp) and run it through my ends. (sooo smooth)

Also- Don't be afraid to ask your stylist to throw a clear coat on your hair to maximize your shine with your next color! You will love how glossy your hair will look!

Undercut//Understood

There is a this silent but screaming trend right now and in the UK it is an even bigger deal.

I am talking about the undercut.

 You know the one?

Remember in the early 90's when the "bad girls" wore half their head shaved- so when they wore their hair in a ponytail you could see what they had done. They shaved it. Those girls used to scare me. I'm not lying.

Anyways, I am totally obsessed with the undercut these days, but I have to say, I am particular.

After many minutes/hours searching for the perfect example of what I am talking about I found only a few.

Here are a few tricks that I believe are needed to pulling off the perfect undercut and still looking lovely.

-NEVER shave the nape. Throughout my searches, this is really popular, and it even goes as far as carving out designs.(But I will say, I'm not opposed to steps,racing tracks or lightning bolts when done right, with a sense of humor and of course style- all depends on the girl, and done on the side(s) only) No girl can get away with this- it's just not pretty or flattering.

-NEVER bic it. If you want it to look like a terrible mistake or you have an incredible peculiar hairline, Never shave it to the scalp.It just looks bad. 

-Brush your hair.

-Curl or Style your hair.

-Wear some makeup

-Accessorize

-Make sure you can hide it from your grandma

-Always be respectful- no matter what edgy style you have.

-but, Wear it with Confidence and a smile.

*These tips are purely based on my opinion- do what you want, but don't say I never warned you.

Baby Style

 A baby needs style just as much as the grown-ups.

Ombre kinda day

Today was an Ombre Kinda Day.

I had a client today who was the perfect candidate for an

 ombre balyage.

It looked fantastic.

She is moving to Cali soon, what better way

to prep for the move than

with perfectly tousled beachy hair.

I always have wished that when I pinched my cheeks they would be pink.

I also always have wished that my lips were plump full and were perfectly stained pink.

The other day I had a wild cherry slushie and it stained my lips.

My pout was stanied a red hue and I  pretended it was real life by making duck lips in the rearview mirror. Really, I did. 

Haven't you ever done that?

DIY wedding Hair

Wedding season is Here! (Singing voice) and that means I am most likely booked every (other) weekend for a wedding, traveling to work a wedding and planning for working a wedding and maybe even attending a wedding.

 Love is in the air!

As much as I love being a part of the whole wedding experience, sometimes I am tempted to nudge the bride and encourage her to try doing it herself (depends on the bride- most of the time, I never encourage this) But I loved this tutorial on a sweet looking bun. I think it is a perfect, classic but simple wedding look.

on an Ugly Day.

Fade. Ask for it, Dudes.

Seriously Dudes.

I love me a perfectly blended fade.

Nothing is more delicious than a crisp neck line, and nothing grows out easier and better looking than a haircut with a faded neckline.

I can't tell you how often I find myself clawing my eyes out when I am stuck standing behind a man who's stylist has neglected such a crucial part of the entire haircut!

Alot of guys don't realize what a difference it makes to even have your hair cut nice and tight around the perimeter of their head.

But I promise you, when they have had it, they will never go back to the

Chia-head look EVER again.

Simply ask your stylist to make it nice and tight around your neckline (especially) Preferably, without holes. This is a test for your stylist, if she can't do this, she/he is NO good. Time to find a new stylist.

Top Hair colors For right.now

I mean, they are so fresh and easy on the eyes and that is what it is all about. The statement is the fresh appeal of the color.

I mean, you can still be a beautiful blonde without going over board with the bleach.

I love the 24 carat inspired locks, and the chestnutty hues, and of course, My love for Redheads goes without saying.

I am in love.love.love.

Pheasant feathers and Birdcage veils..

This past September, I had the priviledge of being the hairstylist for this amazingly gorgeous bride.

I met her at her hotel and spent some time with her and her lovely family and friends.

I also had the honor of doing her sister and a bridesmaids hair.

The girls were adorned in chunky necklaces and hair pieces.

Kelly's detail on everything was impeccable. She was sewing beads onto a cardigan as I did her hair, this was NO bridezilla!

She wore a blush hued dress that fit like a glove and her hair was mod-vintage inspired.

It was a breeze consulting with her, she had a clear vision and photos, which I love!

Her hair turned out fantastically.

She pinned a few pheasant feathesr into it, and even made her own birdcage veil.

Her creativity was off the charts!

She made me want to get married all over again.

4 eyes//Window Face

I am a window face.

I mean, I am blind as a BAT! I can't see a thing without my contacts or glasses. Being pregnant just makes my vision worse, I am dying to get my eyes checked and to pick up a new perscription. With that perscription I am going to pick up some amazing glasses. I mean, BEST EVER. I want glasses that I have never had before. Real statement makers. Ya know!?

Something like these- From Tom Ford's line.

I love everything about these, -- I might feel a little funny rocking these out, but I LOve 'em!

They will be a great conversation piece!

ps. I wear my glasses mostly when I am at home, in my pj's, but if I had these, I think I would wear them... ALWAYS.

What kinds of hairstyles do you recommend for working stiffs that have to be presentable in professional environments where being "hip" or "trendy" are not generally viewed as positive traits, and may, in fact, contribute to a loss of credibility as a professional?

Answer:
Personally, I lOVE this guys hair, it's awesome! I do feel like if he styled it a little 'calmer' not so 'pomped/windblown'(Due to his ride in on his sweet bike?) and maybe with a bit of product it would look quite debonair, especially with the right outfit/work attire. With "hip" haircuts in the workplace, such as this-- it is all in how you style it, how you present it and how you smell. Ha. Kinda kidding about the last one, but seriously. If you look hot and smell good, no one will think twice. But come in with hair like that, holey shoes and a funky stink- you are pushing boundaries.:)


Answer to Follow up:
Sounds to me like this guy is in a funk, and wants something that shows personality, but still can keep it real in a professional environment. Here are some looks that I think work wonderfully in the work place, and still look awesome.

I am loving the man pomp.This can be worn at work or at play.

Although, I am sure you will be heckled by the guys at work if you came in to work with this tomorrow. It takes a secure man to rock this.

Here is a calmed down version that you could get away with. Throw some sweet non-perscrips on and your golden.

I love this European look, the side part that can either be styled somewhat textured/messy or as a faux hawk, and the detailed length behind the ears and in back is the best. I love this, this can be shaped into a modern 'mullet' and you would never know. Its an overall great look.

Oh my, this is a very manly look. This is for Men who have strong jawlines and a great head, not everyone can shave down the sides of their head and look this good. (ahh..David beckham....)

But this look is classic and real cool.

This can be worn messy, spiked or parted over. Classic

I thought this was fun, longer, shaggy and cool. I always think it is refreshing to see a little longer shaggy hair behind a desk.

Another classic. I love the natural texture to his hair, and the length on the sides, this is styled simply and classically, Its just easy to look at.

I hope that these looks looks give you an idea of hip and trendy ideas for you to sport even in a professional environment. All are just ideas, they can be customized to your face, your head, your ears, your sideburns and of course your hair texture.

Being big and pregnant and all, lately I have been needing a lot more help from my husband. He has been so wonderful and such a help. I don't know what I would do without him.
